Crafts School

The Crafts School will transform Golyama Zhelyazna into a Center of Crafts. Throughout the year, workshops and master courses will be held on woodcarving, sculpture, furniture restoration and recycling, icon painting, weaving, felting, embroidery, making of folklore costumes, ceramics, pottery, and tile painting. The Crafts School will be located in the old building of the village bakery and bathhouse.

Crafts School

The atelier will have a capacity of 30 students. It will offer specialized theoretical and practical training courses and masterclasses in:

  • Woodcarving

  • Wood Sculpture

  • Furniture Restoration and Recycling

  • Icon Painting

  • Ceramics

  • Pottery

  • Weaving

  • Felting

  • Embroidery

  • Making of Folk Costumes

The Team

The initiative has managed to create a close-knit community of active artisans who unite around the idea and participate in the project for the future school. Each of them carefully nurtures their talent and contributes to the preservation of Bulgarian crafts. Students will have the opportunity to acquire or further develop specific skills related to characteristic Bulgarian crafts, guided by the hands of some of the most talented Bulgarian artisans.
